New Phosphospecific Antibodies

Protein Phosphorylation

Protein phosphorylation is a vital mechanism regulating many diverse cellular processes including cell division, protein degradation, reproduction, cellular metabolism, and cell signaling.  Proteins are phosphorylated by kinases at serine/threonine or tyrosine residues and dephosphorylated by phosphatases

While protein phosphorylation is involved in most aspects of cell regulation, many pathological conditions, such as cancer, involve abnormal phosphorylation of cellular proteins. Consequently, the study of protein phosphorylation is key to understanding cellular regulation, disregulation, and disease processes.
